Satyakam Arya, Daimler Trucks Asia Head of Customer Services, to become CEO of Daimler India Commercial Vehicles

  • As Head of Customer Services for Daimler Trucks Asia (DTA) in Kawasaki, Japan, Mr. Arya was responsible for the growth of MFTBC’s parts and customer service businesses
  • In his new role, Mr. Arya will lead Daimler’s Indian CV brand BharatBenz and oversee production of a strong share of MFTBC’s export models

Kawasaki, Japan   MFTBC   Mitsubishi Fuso Truck and Bus Corporation, under the umbrella of Daimler Trucks Asia (DTA), today announces the appointment of Satyakam Arya as CEO of Daimler India Commercial Vehicles (DICV) replacing current CEO Erich Nesselhauf. Mr. Arya will assume his new role from November 1, 2018.

Mr. Arya joined DICV in 2009 as Head of Powertrain Procurement before becoming the Vice President of Global Procurement. In 2014, he moved to MFTBC in Japan as the Head of DTA’s Global Procurement. In 2017, he became the Head of Customer Services for DTA, where he effectively grew Fuso’s parts and services businesses internationally and in Japan.

Mr. Nesselhauf will return to Germany to take on the role of Head of Manufacturing Engineering at Daimler Trucks from October 1, 2018. He has spent almost a decade at DICV and has firmly established Daimler Trucks’ business in India, one of the company’s strategic growth markets.

In his new role at DICV, Mr. Arya will lead Daimler’s Indian commercial vehicles brand BharatBenz, a fast-growing newcomer in India’s growing truck and bus market. DICV is also a major manufacturer of fully-built and complete knock-down kits for MFTBC’s “FUSO” line of export model trucks. DICV and MFTBC together make up Daimler Trucks Asia, an organizational unit of Daimler Trucks, the world’s largest commercial vehicles producer.

Following Mr. Arya’s exit from Japan, the customer service and domestic sales operations at MFTBC will be merged into one new organization, and will be led by a Senior Vice President-level executive, who will be announced in the near future. This new, streamlined organizational structure will help provide even more efficient, impeccable and personalized services, as well as the highest quality parts and accessories, to all of MFTBC’s customers across Japan. International sales and customer services will be led by current MFTBC Senior Vice President Michael Kamper.
