Kawasaki, Japan – Mitsubishi Fuso Truck and Bus Corporation (MFTBC), one of Asia’s leading commercial vehicle manufacturers, cooperating with Daimler India Commercial Vehicles Pvt. Ltd. (DICV) under the umbrella of Daimler Trucks Asia (DTA), has appointed Al Habtoor Motors (AHM, Head office: UAE, President: Sultan Al Habtoor) as an additional distribution partner in Saudi Arabia. This multi-distributor approach is a well-established practice in highly competitive markets like the GCC region, and will help the FUSO brand to expand its customer base and market share in the Middle East.
Since 1973, MFTBC has provided its heavy-duty, medium-duty and light-duty trucks and light-duty buses in Saudi Arabia, which is Fuso’s second-largest commercial vehicles market in the Middle East behind the United Arab Emirates (UAE). With this appointment, Fuso will further expand its customer base and market share in the Middle East.
Since its launch in 1983, as the official distributor of Fuso in the UAE, AHM has achieved the highest market share among Japanese commercial vehicle brands due to its strong sales network and enhanced customer service, and is greatly contributing to the expansion of this market.
Michael Kamper, Senior Vice President and Head of Marketing, Sales and Customer Services of Daimler Trucks Asia, said, “Potential demand for commercial vehicles in Saudi Arabia is the biggest in the region, so we recognize that Saudi Arabia is a very important market. The appointment of AHM is based on their high performance in vehicle sales and customer services in the UAE over the past 35 years. I believe that their proven sales network and services in UAE will also strength our position in Saudi Arabia and provide reliability to our customers.”
Fuso plans to launch the full portfolio of heavy-duty, medium-duty and light-duty trucks and light-duty buses through AHM in Saudi Arabia in early 2016.
