Mitsubishi Fuso Truck and Bus Corporation (MFTBC; headquarters: Kawasaki City, Kanagawa Prefecture; President and CEO Hartmut Schick), under the umbrella of Daimler Trucks Asia, announces the appointment of Mr. Haruki Hayashi to the position of Senior Vice President, Head of Sales and Customer Service Japan from May 1, 2019*.
Mr. Hayashi currently serves as Corporate Advisor for Mitsubishi Corporation in Tokyo. Over his close to four decade-long career, he has held various senior management positions in Mitsubishi Group companies in Japan, Africa and Europe.
On the announcement of Mr. Hayashi’s appointment, Mr. Hartmut Schick, President and CEO of MFTBC and Head of Daimler Trucks Asia, stated that “With his wealth of executive experience and record of success, I have every confidence that Mr. Hayashi is well-placed to help MFTBC grow our domestic market share and improve overall satisfaction for all customers.”
Mr. Kazuo Matsunaga, Chairman of the Board of MFTBC said, “We are fortunate to have found a seasoned manager like Mr. Hayashi from within the Mitsubishi Group. Mr. Hayashi’s appointment represents our simultaneous commitment to the Mitsubishi Group as well as remaining a proudly international company.”
*Mr. Hayashi’s appointment is pending approval by the MFTBC Board of Directors and shareholders, to be finalized April 30, 2019.
