We take responsibility towards society and our employees. Where we can make a contribution to change something for the better, we do it.

Our People

FUSO is committed to empowering our people through a safe, healthy, and inclusive culture that drives the transformation of our business.

At FUSO, we have approximately 10,000 employees representing more than 70 nations. In 2023, the share of women in leadership positions surpassed 10%. While this marks progress, we recognize that there is much more to be done. We are continuing to implement Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) initiatives, such as Women@Fuso, to foster a more inclusive and equitable workplace.

Our facilities adhere to the international occupational health and safety standard ISO45001, ensuring a safe working environment for all. In addition, we follow ISO14001, the most widely recognized framework for Environmental Management Systems (EMS), to encourage superior environmental performance and sustainability.

We prioritize employee health and well-being through proactive health management. By promoting mental and physical health for employees and their families, we aim to foster a strong culture of well-being. To track progress, we monitor key health indicators, follow up on check-up results, and organize health-related events and mind-body training programs.

MFTBC is also deeply committed to skill development. Many of our employees hold certifications in machining skills, such as Ordinary Lathe Work and Milling Machine Work. In recognition of our dedication, MFTBC was honored at the 2024 Vocational Ability Awards Ceremony, hosted by the Ministry of Health, Labor, and Welfare. The commendation highlighted our long-term contributions to skill testing, including exam participation, venue provision, and examiner dispatch.

AMBITIONS
We strive to be an employer of choice, and we foster a culture of diversity, equity and inclusion – leading to a sense of belonging across all levels and regions.

Diversity, Equity and Inclusion
At FUSO

At FUSO, we are committed to fostering Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) to create a workplace where everyone can thrive. Two key initiatives driving this mission are Women@Fuso and our annual International Women’s Day celebrations.

Women@Fuso: A Platform for Connection

Women@Fuso provides a safe space for employees to connect, share, and discuss topics that matter to women and allies. Open to all, the monthly gatherings include open discussions on topics such as workplace respect and harassment training, women’s health and well-being, perspectives on company policies from a gender lens, company sustainability strategy and mentorship programs.

By encouraging open dialogue, Women@Fuso empowers employees to drive positive change together.

International Women’s Day: Inspiring Inclusion

Each year, we celebrate International Women’s Day with events that recognize women’s contributions and highlight opportunities for growth. Key events for 2024 included keynote & panel discussions on insights from leadership and employees on DEI progress, experience sharing sessions for working parents on balancing career and family, and expert talks on health topics impacting women.

These events inspire meaningful conversations and reflect our commitment to building a truly inclusive workplace.

Human Rights

We know the impact of our company reaches far beyond our own operations. We are working to continuously improve our due diligence measures to respect and support human rights throughout our value chain. With our Human Rights Compliance Management System (Human Rights CMS), we employ a systematic approach to fulfilling human rights due diligence obligations. We have a central point for complaints through which tip-offs and complaints about violations of human rights and environmental obligations can be submitted.

Transparency in supply chain is also crucial. Transparency will allow us to identify risks in the supply chain and verify compliance with our standards. We work with various tools such as the Sustainability Assessment Questionnaire (“SAQ”) of the European Drive Sustainability initiative, which allows us to query relevant sustainability criteria and incorporate them into an assessment. The assessment is mandated for new procurements when purchasing production material from a defined order volume.

AMBITIONS
We are strongly committed to respect and support human rights, and we expect the same from our business partners through- out the value chain.

Traffic Safety

Our vehicles are fitted with accident prevention and protection measures to support our vision of zero traffic accidents. The new Super Great are equipped with our latest generation of active safety systems featuring Active Brake Assist 6, Active Sideguard Assist 2, and Front Blindspot Information System to increase traffic safety for truck drivers and road users. Other vehicles such as the new eCanter are also equipped with advanced safety functions such as Electric Parking Brake (EPB), Rear Eye Camera System, High Voltage Cutoff Switch, and Vehicle Proximity Alert System (AVAS).

FUSO aims to develop next-generation trucks that can reduce the burden on drivers and improve transportation efficiency through the development of automated driving technology. We have developed a concept model of an all-electric garbage truck equipped with SAE Level 2 driving automation. Based on this verification experiment, FUSO will continue to develop EV trucks that enable cleaner and more efficient garbage collection.

In addition to vehicle safety features, FUSO advance logistics and fleet management system, Truckonnect, helps gain a comprehensive perspective on driving behavior as the system detects, records, and alerts hazardous driving events, namely harsh acceleration, braking, and over speeding. Our advanced system compiles historical driving data into a meaningful ‘Safe Driving Score,’ enabling the provision of targeted driver training programs focused on enhancing safety.

AMBITIONS
We strive for zero accidents with our trucks and buses.
