Kawasaki - Mitsubishi Fuso Truck and Bus Corporation (MFTBC), one of Asia’s leading commercial vehicle manufacturers, today announced that it has launched an all-new driver assistance system “FUSO Connect.” The system, which runs on “Eco Fleet Light” smartphone app (Datatech Co., Ltd.) and “Smartphone Link Application Unit” (Pioneer Corporation) will be available at Mitsubishi Fuso dealerships and regional sales centers across Japan from June 20, 2013.
Marking a first-in-industry offering for the Japanese commercial vehicles market, FUSO Connect is designed to enhance the drivers’ awareness of “safe driving” and “fuel efficient driving” and to offer an overall vehicle operation analysis similar to “Eco Fleet Pro,” a comprehensive onboard Fuso fleet management system offered in the market since March 2009. The touch panel display audio unit supports hands-free operations including audio and navigation systems.
“The all-new smart system ‘FUSO Connect’ will allow the drivers to be connected with various driver support information,” said Mr. Hidekazu Kanno, MFTBC Director of Life Cycle Management. “It is an additional offering for our customers to install on our industry-leading fuel-efficient vehicles which we believe will help support our customers’ efforts in increasing awareness for safe, efficient driving. We are committed to offer better driver support systems and to overall grow together with evolving customer requirements.”
